In addition to legal, zoning and environmental issues, other items must be reviewed and the impact on surrounding neighbors considered. This could include traffic issues (Soldier Hill Road fairly busy as is), wetland and stream encroachment, flooding, effects on water tables and runoff, site contamination/remediation, loss of trees, wildlife, and other concerns. While senior housing, affordable housing, and ratables are all important issues, this parcel of land is not appropriate for further development.  Paramus needs parks and open space.  Let's work together to protect our resources and combat over-development.  Please write letters, send e-mails, and make telephone calls:

Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney
:   webmchale@co.bergen.nj.us

Bergen County Executive (201) 336-7300 ONE Bergen County Plaza Floor 5 Rm. 580 Hackensack, NJ 07601

"As County Executive and previously as a Freeholder, McNerney has been a pioneer in the fight to preserve open space in Bergen County. During his first year as County Executive, he fought for the reauthorization of the Open Space, Recreation, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund, which has helped the County acquire hundreds of acres of open space since its inception in 1998. The voters of Bergen County overwhelmingly approved the referendum, which included increasing the amount of funds available to preserve and protect the remaining parcels of open space in Bergen County".
